Train station

Their are many a city block project at LEGO ideas, but this one is one of my favorite.

I like adding the dimension of a train to the city blocks theme. You can support this project here.

Ah the good old days. Typwriters with no erase buttons to arase mustacks

Steam Punk is a fun theme to build on, but the idea behind it is rather impossible because electricity would inevitably have to be discovered. Despite this bias I knew that this steam punk typewriter was worthy of support.

One of my projects is to create a LEGO keyboard using just the electronic components of a real keyboard, while building the rest out of LEGO. Those letters on the keys are essential to make it workable. You can support this project here.

Earth's last defense... Again?

I do not know how many last "defense" or last "hope" themed builds original or non-original are on LEGO Ideas, but it is the build I care for and NicolasJoos has done a great job at that.

I think that the greebles are exceptional, and it would make a great desk ornament. You can support it here.

Fun fact: Hollywood has destroyed New York about 25 times in movies.

Atom Shadow

I want to point out this surprisingly unknown beautifully constructed peice of art built by Talebuilder. I could speak in hyperboles for a long time about this ship, but instead I will highly recommend that you support it.

You can support this masterpiece here.

After posting many war related projects, I thought I would take a break and post a peaceful project for a change.

I really like the yellow and orange leaves. They would be great for fall scenes. You can support this here.

Octan Racing LMP-1

Even though I have not seen a single real car race in my life, I know a good build when I see one. Below I compared the LEGO Idea's project to the actual race car.

I think that manuelcara3 did a great job making the build so accurate. It was always hard for me to build real life builds, because of my limited LEGO collection. You can support this project here.

Non-original projects vs. Original projects

I have noticed that projects at LEGO Ideas that are based off of some form of media initially get a boost of supporters from the fan community, but then after the fan base on LEGO Ideas it takes a long time if ever to reach 10K votes. If you look at the approved ideas you will notice that most of them are original creations, or non-original creations that are popular. This is why I suggest that if you want an idea to reach 10k votes, to post an original idea, unless your non-original idea is extremely popular.

"What do trees have to talk about? The consistancy of squirrel droppings?"

Thus the famous words of Grimly when he learns that the trees in Fangorn Forest talk. The trees may not have anything to talk about, but we have a lot to talk about trees. Theses trees are worth talking about. The birdhouse is a very nice detail along with the rough "wood" look.

I would buy this set just for the red tree pieces! If the builder would separate the trees into individual sets, it would make the set more affordable.

"Huston, A blue astronaut is yelling 'SPACESHIP' at five o'clock, should we inform him that sound does not travel in space?"

I have always loved space and spaceships, which is why I want to point out this realistic space shuttle made by Teazza.
Building in micro scale has always frustrated me, because you have to find the right peice to do a very specific job. You can support this project here.

Happy Columbus Day!

Thank you Christopher Columbus for discovering the New World. Thanks to you we have footprints on the Moon, interferometers, and internet. To celebrate his discovery. I dug up a Columbus themed project on LEGO Ideas.

This was probably one of the best original sailing ships on LEGO Ideas. I hope LEGO accepts this despite saying that they would not accept any history Ideas. Click here to support.

Maximous

I was fortunate to be able to raise an orphaned squirrel for a month. I found the squirrel when it was so young, its eyes where not even open. I looked around for a nest or some place where its parents would be but I found none. I then took it in and watched it grow into its teenage years and named it Maximus, which translates as greatest in Latin. Because it is illegal to own a wild pet, I had to give the squirrel to a squirrel rehabilitator. This is why I love squirrels to this day and I could not resist supporting this LEGO squirrel idea.

Support this squirrel for Max!! You can support this project here. Do not give any animal that is not native to the Audubon Society because they will euthanize any animal that is not native.

Goblins where named goblins because they always gobble down their food. Speaking of Goblins, support this highly detailed and well thought out build.

I like the SNOTs used on the side of the arrow loops. Support this well-greebled build here.

A working LEGO Microscope

I did not think it was possible to make a working LEGO microscope, but carl.Merriam has done what I thought to be impossible. What a feat, to make the microscope look real, and make it actually functional!

One of the problems that I see in this project, is not being able to focus adequately. It is a working LEGO microscope, so I will not complain. Support this project here. I would really like one of those chrome swords. If I put the sword on an Android device, it would be google chrome!

My first project

After having a blog about LEGO Ideas, one would think that I have a project on LEGO Ideas. Now I do!
Because I like space, theoretical physics, math, and LEGO, I have been disappointed at how unrealistic the LEGO space set themes have become. My project is a small, inexpensive planetary lander that has play value, and is realistic. the link is here. Please support!

I have a riddle. If you tell ten people to support my project, and those ten people tell ten others and those tell ten others and those tell ten other..... I will have very few supporters. How is this possible. Place your answer down below in the comments.

TESLA RSS-15

After posting that other spaceship, I realized how a spaceship really fits in with my Terra background. On that proverbial note, I just wanted to point out another original spaceship that is worthy of support.

I really like the greebles. Support this project here.

Spaceship! SpaceSHIP! SPACESHIP!!!!

Finally a good spaceship that is not from any form of media or literature and not classic space! A completely original spaceship, that would make Benny proud.

I like the fact that it is so large that it pacts a lot of functionality. You can support this spaceship here.

Leonardo Da Vinci

One of my favorite inventors is Leonardo Da Vinci. He lived from 1492-1452 and is the definition of a  Renaissance Man. He was an inventor, artist, and scientist. He was a true genius and was probably smarter than Einstein. With that backstory, let me introduce to you a LEGO Ideas project that is a model of one of Leonardo's inventions, a flying apparatus.

The apparatus worked like a screw. Because of this, when Leonardo's patron asked what he was drawing and after Leonardo's answer, the patron would responded "you screwed everything up!"
This is what the invention looked like in Leonardo's journal

I know that LEGO Idea rules say that they will not accept any history ideas, but Leonardo is outside of time, a larger than life figure. Support here!

Sinking German

Since the flying Dutchmen means German in German more or less (more on the less side), does this mean that the flying Dutchmen means a flying German? What does flying have to do with anything? What if it sinks, does it become a Sunk German. Never mind.
Speaking of the flying Dutchmen Someone on LEGO Ideas has done a fabulous job replicating it in LEGO.

The link for the spectacular build is here I appreciate all the hard work that went into finding the right pieces to make it more life-like.

How to train you Godzilla?

Funny story. My sister went to see How to Train Your Dragon 2. After all the trailers had been shown and it was time for the real movie, the screen showed a nuclear bomb in the pacific going off and a creature rising from the ocean. Someone in the audience shouted "How to Train your Godzilla" and sure enough the theater had mixed up the movies and started showing Godzilla instead of How to Train Your Dragon.
What does this have to do with Lego Ideas? Nothing much except that Stormbringer did a very good job building an accurate model of toothless on LEGO Ideas.

Exo Suit 2?

With many greebles, this build reminds me strongly of Peter ried's building style. It is very original and expertly done. He said that it took him two months from design to the finished project. I really like the details are spectacular.
I hope that if this passes review, that the LEGO company will not mess it up like how it messed up the exo suit.

Welcome!

Hello!
In my previous blog http://thelimitedlegobuilder.blogspot.com/ I have a page where I recommend different projects on the LEGO Ideas forum. The page is responsible for about 1/8 of my total views, so I decided to make a new blog.
If you have not made for yourself a Lego Ideas account already then I strongly suggest that you do. I will feature certain builds that are creative and original.
If you have a project that you would like me to recommend put a link to it down below in the comments.
